This beautiful, natural looking lake was designed by the National Rivers Authority, and being spring-fed has superb water quality and an environment that is ideal for the large numbers of coarse fish that inhabit the lake. The lake is stocked with roach, bream. tench, gudgeon, crucean carp, perch, chub to over six pounds, and large numbers of carp well into double figures, with the biggest mirror caught in recent years weighing over twenty seven pounds, and a grass carp of twenty two and a half pounds. Fishing is from dawn until dusk ( no earlier than 6am), and day tickets are available from the Lodge, anglers are asked not to call at the Lodge before 8am. All anglers arriving after 8am must call at the Lodge and purchase a day ticket before fishing. There are no matches on the lake, and keepnets are no longer allowed.
