This beautiful, natural looking lake was designed by the National Rivers Authority, and being spring-fed has superb water quality and an environment that is ideal for the large numbers of coarse fish that inhabit the lake. The lake is stocked with roach, bream. tench, gudgeon, crucean carp, perch, chub to over six pounds. There are large numbers of carp well into double figures, and both mirror and common carp to over twenty seven pounds have been caught, and also a grass carp of twenty two and a half pounds. Anglers who are fishing for carp must have an unhooking mat and a large landing net. Fishing is from 7am until sunset, and day tickets are available from the Lodge, anglers are asked not to call at the Lodge before 8am. All anglers arriving after 8am must call at the Lodge first and purchase a day ticket before fishing. There are no matches on the lake, and the lake is open all year.
